Seems it was another "how much is my car worth" thread. Though it wasn't me that closed it, I'm certain this is the reason. Many of these occur, especially at this time of year, and it's one of those topics better suited to Autotrader and the PH Classifieds.

It's all in interests of keeping the forums 'clean'. Same reason for no 'Happy Birthday' threads.

I understand that too Tony, but I disagree slightly with Al's premise. All the Classifieds and Auto Trader tell you is asking prices, which are not usually the prices the cars go for.

Sorry to disappoint on this occasion. I did close the thread on the premise that All the recent "What’s my car worth" are really veiled Advertisements.

If I was going to sell my Tuscan (which I'm not I would primarily look through the dealers that advertise on PH, and our own classified section. At best all you would achieve by asking that question in a forum would be best guess!

I for one would want to know what the market place was willing to pay.

So as Tony says these types of posts will diminish in the future and will be closed down not only on the Tuscan forum but also in the other forums.

Hope that explains, and thanks for your understanding.

Hi all, Just to clear things up a bit. My question How much is it worth was only out of interest and to get a feel from other Phers on how much they think the car would be worth taking into consideration whats happening with TVR at the moment. And no the car is not for sale and if it was do you not think that I would mention this to get your interest!!!! Thanks anywayconfused

And also if this post was deemed to be inappropriate then surely its down to Ted to close it!!

Whilst you may not be selling your car, 99% of all the "what's it worth" threads ARE trying to sell their car!

So can I re post saying:-I'm not selling my car but out of interest with all thats going on with TVR how much do you think my car is worth in the current market or would that be deemed as trying to sell my car aswell??

Well for one thing it wont fit in the title box.

You can ask any question you like on the forums (within reason), but why would you want to know how much it's worth in the current climate if your not selling, what's the point?

I would still suggest that a more positive area would be to look at similar cars for sale, using the classifieds and the dealer web sites.

Yours may have be one of the first "What’s it worth threads" to be closed but it will probably not be the last.

At least you’re brave enough to look! Think I'll wait until it settles down a bit.

Not that I'm thinking of selling of course!
