Smoked rear lenses

[RJC-S3]

Anybody fitted them? Do they look any good?
Standard lenses at the moment& there are plenty of both types on fleabay.
I've just broken the nearside one

I think they look good on darker coloured cars. I toyed with the idea on mine but when I grafted some onto a photo, they just didn't look right. The red and orange of the rear lights seems to complement the red paintwork quite well...

I've got them on my S3. They came with the car. Not sure what they're off though, late 90's Escort RS turbo I think ?

Mine's dark blue ( Starfire Mica ) so they look alright and don't look out of place, imo

I can see Doug's point about different paint colours may not match though.

Got them on mine, it is also the dark blue colour. Agree about them not looking right on some coloured cars.

I have changed mine to smoked on my starmist green S3 and like the look but be careful as there are differing degrees of smoked and in my opinion the darker smoked can look a bit max muppet, I also changed the side repeaters for lightly smoked oval type which looks good also - if you do a search this topic was covered at length some time ago and some sample photos posted - one of which was the same or if not a similar colour to your car I think.

I have them on my car Doug, same colour as yours I think, and in my opinion they are a massive improvement, makes them look less like the Escort lights they actually are! Heres a pic I have a before one somewhere too to compare if you like??



Bare in mind that the completely smoked one are illegal the one I have are the legal ones.

Can buy a spray tint from Halfords for £9.00 which is intended for rear lights. Small grey aerosol can.
Used it on mine and it looks good.Big improvement.One coat is enough though and it passes MOT no problem.
Also used it on my front indicators and they look a lot better smoked than bright orange.

Mine is again dark blue, and agree with comments that car colour makes a difference.
