I finally got round to processing skin for the first time.

Im not sure where I went wrong, it just doesnt look quite right.
I followed this tutorial step by step. I did it twice, once using the model they provided (mine looked exactly like theirs when finished, with flawless skin) but it didnt work so well on my own ass shot. I wondered whether that might have something to do with the layer settings, and the fact that one image was a few hundred pixels wide and the other a few thousand.

In step 9, you should have taken sepia instead of pink.
I did. It looked better in pink. Until afterwards

Apologies Bob, but what possessed you with that image?
On my vulgarmeter it rates:
Vulgar <-------------||---------------------------------------> Sexy/Stylish
It was either ed's idea, or the models. I cant remember which but Im certainly not taking the blame!

I adjusted your vulgarmeter, its far from great (its also just about the only skin I have to process) and its not THAT bad.
(prepares for 10x 'oh yes it is!')

oh and the tutorial is shit. look how bad she looks. he should have just taken a pic with a maniquin.
bob all you need to do is create two layers. top layer you blur with gausian blur to around 30, the middle layer you sharpen. you then use the erasor brush to remove bits you want to keep sharp then adjust opacity to what you like

TBH bob I was shocked when that pic came up. I'm glad no one else seen it or they may have thought I was looking at porn lol
I almost put an 18 smiley on the thread, but decided it wasnt necessary after the nude posted in last months comp thread, given that the model wasnt nude. I suppose it is rather, erm... "not very tasteful"
Maybe it will be appreciated by the shutterstock buyers
Speaking of which, Ive sold nearly 120 images in the last 3 days

taken at a higher angle so you don;t see her gussett would be better. and have the model further back from the background so its proper black
lol... i see your point. The model wanted her gusset in the shot, remember?Classy!
