No, now get back to the Cerb forum before we banish you for good hehe

I should point out that whilst I say no, I don't actually know the answer, but I very much doubt it would be cost effective if at all possible.

I reckon the hard part will be somehow negating the transmision control module and the J-gate without breaking up the CAN and SCP networks...scratchchin

It can be done but wouldn't be at all cost effective.

How would you calculate the cost effectiveness
If he wants it he may put a high price on having a manual

My XKR has ben converted to tiptronic by Racing Green Cars, GREAT

There is a firm in the USA that is working on getting a manual gearbox to work with all the electronics, when available I am looking to get mine done.

I read in the JEC magazine that Elite in Derby are going to be offering a manual option for XKR and looking for a test car?

I have thrown the mag away now but no doubt a search on the web for Elite will finf them.

Sadly, I suspect that in cars that are designed for it the automatic is probably the best and most high performance option, and our mate is probably pissing expensively in the wind. Just a feeling. Im not an expert.

iv driven a few performance auto's and the manual is always more fun and a more engaging drive, so i think the XK would be no exception

Just that the 997 Turbo is faster in Tiptronic than manual because they can control the engine, the gearchange, the turbo boost, basically everything. I have always been a manual enthusiast but even so...

The car would have to be re-calibrated.
I worked with some of the SVO guys at browns lane when they did the XKR-R manual box show car.
The calibration of ignition and fueling off-idle is totally different these days manual to automatic.

As an experiment I flashed a manual S type 3 litre V6 with an Automatic cal once and the car shunted and shuffled everywhere and the engine speed would flare disconcertingly when the the clutch pedal was depressed!

I saw that one too. And it did work phenomenal! Mainly because of the limited slip differential tough. They didn't build it only because of the then new DB7 GT, as I understood.
