Is it anyone here selling/sold this car? I know someone who is interested in it but I really don't know an awful lot about HSV GTS's.

Also, seems over-priced to me, any thoughts?

Any comments appreciated

It does seem a little pricey compared to a 2004 Monaro but then it is an HSV.

does anyone "know" Dave Ashdown ??

I've done a little research, and believe he's a previous owner, if not 'the' previous owner..

I had a very quick look around it yesterday, but the guy wasn't there and it was getting dark, so I didn't bother to phone him,

Not having seen one in the flesh before, I can say "I like" its a very striking car (the HSVGTS generally I mean) tiny little kerb scrape under the front for obvious reasons, and a few 'normal stone chips'consistent with the age I'd say(with no expertise in this I might add) at least one minor 'car park dint' (I say dint as it wasn't big enough to be called a 'dent')
two 5p sized what look like bird lime spots on the hood.
didn't get in so I can't comment on the interior, and even my comments on the exterior can be taken with a pinch of salt, as it was overcast, and inside an open door garage/storage area,
the alloys were reasonable, one very good, couple with edge scrapes, but didn't go over it with a fine toothcomb, shod in F1 rubber.

As has been stated it dosent exactly seem cheep, but its 'here' LOL My general conclusion (for my personal situation), was that it was probably too much money for the age of the car,HOWEVER as the joy would be in the driving, perhaps I havent been fair

on a posative note...The missus said on seeing it from a distance, Now thats a "YOU" sort of car thumbup yes she 'knows me soooo well

Nick.

Nope... not at all...

Its about finding a car full stop LOL

so as well as looking for a rare car, I went to look at an even rarer one LOL

its only a couple of miles away, and I had briefly flirted with the idea of one a while back, as I realistically need 4 doors, but they were/are a little too steep for my budget so I didn't pursue it.
This one is within my budget, but I feel probably more than I want to spend on a 7 year old car.

my problem with the 260 is that I would like a MK2 SE and the price has yet to drop on them just now..
Mk1's are starting to appear, but again, mainly non SE's (but enough of the brit )

I spent last night till 3am checking out the GTS'LOL theres lots I like about it
and at a quick glance this car looked great, and as I said above..."it was 'me' "

Realistically I have a shortlist of about 4 car/marque's ranging from can't afford to can but will I be happy,
and the trouble with cars is the more power, the more expensive they are, the more they cost you, and like many I presume, being a family man I'm having trouble with my 'checks and balances' ie "how much fun can i actually afford" headache

Nick

You are better off with the LSx engine as there is more knowledge and parts about for it due to all the Monaro, Camaro and Corvette stuff. The holden lump has good support in Oz, but not having been sold outside of Oz makes it a hard engine to maintain unless you deal direct with the oz guys.
