It struck me that the insurance for my Cayman S will need renewing in a couple of months, so I idly clicked away on the Privilege site, just to see what it might be, what with Christmas coming up etc...

Myself and Mrs XXPLOD, we're both early 30s. Car garaged, full NCB, tracker, no claims/convictions.

£385.

Yes, three hundred and eighty five pounds sterling. That about £130 less than this year's!

F*CK ME! Give 'em a go!

Our Boxster is a similar low amount.

You need to make sure you have selected the Guaranteed Hire Car and Protected No Claims as they don't automatically include these items. When you select them you often find that the quote jumps up.

Also I seam to recall that when I was looking around earlier in the year A Plan were cheaper. So it may be worth trying them before making a final decision.

I was just very lazy and didn't get around to swapping.

No insurance for my GT3 off them then.

Thanks. I don't need a guaranteed hire car as I've access to another car anyway, and IMHO protected NCB is a con, so I'm happy enough as is. I'll give A-plan a go as well.

I ended up insuring with Privilege after a quick trawl a few weeks back, prior to picking up my 993 Targa - £550 with PCB, based on 34, 6k miles, garaged, 9 years NCB, no claims and 1 SP30.

A pleasant surprise after £750 on my last renewal to cover an S2000 worth £5K less and with 50 fewer bhp!
