Guys,

A little while back the sky bloke showed me how to do a re-boot. But, I have lost the fag packet I wrote it on. How is it performed again? Box has crashed.

TIA

We just switch ours off at the mains for 30 secs or so. Seems to do the trick so far

Hope this helps

Thanks autoholic, done that but the re-boot I'm after is when you turn it on holding a button or something..............

I think you might be after this
Turn the unit off by the power. Press and hold the backup button WHILE you plug in the power (it helps to have 4 hands) keep holding the backup button until the screen changes to a black screen saying it is updating and it will take ten minutes (it usually takes less).

'services'
Opt 4
Then 0 and 1 and select
Opt 8
'Full System Reset'
It will take a few mins to reconfigure. Note I think it also deletes anything on your hard drive.

Note: I've not had the need/balls to do this myself so can't vouch for it working - nor take any responsiblity for it not working - or doing something unexpected.

Details here, along with other instructions: www.pvrwire.com/2005/10/05/sky-tip-of-the-week/

Might be worth calling Sky+ support first if there's a problem

Good point F.

I've never ever had to phone them, and hopefully I won't ever have to - so can't comment from experience one way or the other.

Based on your comments I suspect it's probably something I should pray never happens!

Don't do that unless you want to loose everything on the Hard drive and all you personal planner stuff.
