Reluctantly I have to sell my 2000 griff 500. Its been my dream car but now have to put the money into my dream house, Bugger!!!
Does anyone suggest the best way to go about selling a griff. I rang Fernies and they take the first £4000 for a sale or return deal. I was just wondering how best to advertise privately and more importantly deal with people test driving etc.
Also whats the value, Its a 2000 ocean blue griff with brushed aluminium dash and full Leven bits 23k miles. It is more or less flawless with no stone chips

Have you seen their prices?
I`m in the same boat and was surprised a Home Counties franchised TVR dealer strongly recommended I advertise on the AutoTrader website - they said the vast majority of their used sales came that way. I feared tyre kickers, but the only proper interest I`ve had has been via the Trader.
Of course this is addition to a PH classified.
Classic and Sportscar`s January issue will have a big TVR feature that rightly includes the Griffith - worth investigating but the classified dealine for that might have passed already.
I got a call from Fernhurst - they recognised my car from the PH ad as one they supplied new - and offered their sale-on-commision deal and quite rightly stated they do get better prices than private but might have to offset any remedial work required to allow them to warrant it from the final figure the owner gets. It`s an option if desparation sets in and a run down to Hampshire for them to appraise the car without obligation would always be fun!
Just be prepared for scams - roughly 8 out of 10 inquiries I`ve had (by both email and text) are not genuine. Searching PH has helped on the odd occasion I`ve been in 2 minds about a particular reply.

Either let them test drive only once the cash is on the table - in effect a 'half hour warranty' - or insist on proof of comprehensive insurance specifying YOU are the owner, and the precise details of the car - preferably at an agreed value of the asking price.
Unless you know a mate with an airfield, private sales are turning into a minefield IMHO.
I'm probably going to have to sell mine due to expanding family and losing the ability to win the "why I HAVE to keep a TVR" argument.
