Anyone ordered a or taken delivery of a 997 gt3

It's my first order and i take delivery around Jan 07.
Bucket seats are definate, but not sure re the bi xenons, PCM, Telephone module & sound package - would this affect the resale value?

Just order the car you want. Some people will want some/all of the stuff you listed, and others won't be bothered. There's no end to worrying about residuals as there a kagillion ways to specify a Porsche, so don't bother. In any event, you'll be losing money on the extra kit no matter what you do, so just order the stuff you think you'll get value from. rolleyes

That's the best advice. If it is a daily driver, then a few creature comforts make sense, if it's a track car, then perhaps none are necessary. As for re-sale, you will need vaseline either way, so just enjoy the car. Good choice.

the question is, shout DO YOU WANT PCM, TELEPHONE MODULE & SOUND??????

FFS!!!!!!! you have achieved enough in life to be able buy a GT3. Why are you speccing a car according to what someone else might want????

do you buy trousers, or a TV, or a biro or any other thing you want/need on the basis of what some other bugger might give you when you get bored of it?????

i need a drink

Yep, you'll be f*cked anyway come resale time so better enjoy your toy whilst you have it.

Actually, it's a fair question. The options list is a bit of a minefield - no harm in asking for advice.

For regular track use, a base car in a flat colour with the CS pack is probably the best value.

For more regular road use then it's all down to what you think you'll need/use. None of the options add a great deal of weight, although it can mount up.

PCCBs are probably the most contentious option, with polarised opinions.

The reason why i asked this question was -

I order a 996 turbo back in 2003, I didn't spec the Sat Nav - didn't really think much of it.

When it came time to sell - I had an abundance of interests’ after placing an Ad. But the interest soon diminished when the buyers came to know that sat nav wasn't spec'd on the car. Was the car spec'd with this I would have received the amount or near enough what I orginally paid for the ruddy car!!!

My dealer advised that sat nav in a C2/C4 or S's is an absolute must. For a GT3 he put it at only 50/50. It depends on what you're gonna use it for.

My GT3 wont be having it - it'll be on a limited mileage policy, used as a weekend toy and i'm gonna know where i'm going so wont need to be told which way to go. I've put the huge fecking near £2000 rip-off cost towards the even bigger fecking cost of LW buckets!

I thought the seats (assuming they are same as the ones in the CGT) and the cage were a no cost option?

I'll be using it on social & track basis - Jus dnt want to be hit hard on the resale as i did with the turbo i had. My dealer advised me to get the sat nav, along with the club sport option as he informs me you can easily remove the roll cage afterwards

But the 997 gt3 is a big hike compared to the 996 gt3!!

No the LW bucket seats (LWB) are a £3130 optional extra. The clubsport option is a NCO. You cant have the clubsport option without getting LWB's.
I'm getting the LWB's but not the clubsport NCO as i want the seats in leather/alcantara not the black flame resistant fabric. Also dont want a roll cage or fire extinguisher.

I'd be inclined to get satnav too. With the RS I have a tom tom strapped the screen the whole time, and when on track it's in the boot so hardly a weight saving measure. Wish mine was built in as removing it every time I park up is a hassle.
