could be one of a bunch of things - do you have access to someone that can plug in a laptop with the diagnostic software - so that you can give it a once over?
The last time it happened to me, it was water that had got into the connector between the wiring loom and the ECU - i ended up drying it out (in airing cupboard), and putting it back together with a plastic bag wrapped around it and then cabletied to stop it getting that way again.
Thks
Stuart.

You really need to get the ECU software, then you can check what is happening. My MIL light started flickering intermittently on the A1, so I stopped and plugged the laptop in. It showed my that the Air Temp sensor had logged a fault. That gave me the confidence to push on. So long as your oil pressure and water temps are good, and the car is driving ok, I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
No the car is garaged all the time, never seen rain in the three weeks i have had it. It was doing it when I picked the
car up from James Agger Autosport, and he said he would sort it out., but now this morning its on all the time. Does anyone have the software
so I can try and find out, ok with comps so no bother there. Also it started idling at 1500rpm and felt like it was it was out of balance if that helps.
many thanks for the info.

Is the car missfiring at all?
If you drive it with a Lambda fault or ECU fault there can be a danger of the car overfuelling which can damage your cats (If still fitted)
I had a similar problem with mine when I first bought it and after numerous things checked and replaced ended up getting a new wiring harness fitted and it's been fine ever since.

I defintely wouldnt carry on driving with the MIL light on - there has been many documented instances in this forum of people doing just that, and ending up with very expensive costs.
Have there been any documented instances? Clearly it should not be driven (far) until sorted but I am not aware of any relation between mil light on and big bills (cats aside).
A 1500 rpm idle doesn't sound good - I suspect you have a mixture/airflow prob. I agree, in this case I wouldn't drive it as you could cook your cats, or worse. I can mail you the owners cd if you like, just drop me a line. It has the workshop manuals as well as the ECU software, so very useful if you fancy some DIY maintenance.
