Bonnet Catches

My cerb won't start this weekend - thought it was the starter motor but thankfully turned out to be nothing more than a flat battery.

Putting everything back together, got the "bat wing" back on and then just about to close the bonnet and the catch came away in my hand :-(

Can anyone recommend a bonding agent/set of instructions for fixing it back in place ??

Which part has come away the bonnet stay or the catch on the inide of the inner wing?

The tab that sits on the underside of the bonnet near the top.

Mine was cracked - I carefully applied several layers of fibreglass and matting to strengthen it.

Isopon P40 is good stuff. It's like a Body FIller,but is actually a Gel Fibreglass, should be an essential peice of kit for a Cerb owner. (from Halfords)

Depending on how much of the bonnet has come away, it may be benificial to get a small metal plate made and fix the catch to this then bond the whole thing to the bonnet. this will help to spread the load and give a larger contact surface for bonding. then paint it black so it doesn't look as bad as it sounds. i have done this sort of thing on my boat before when studs have pulled through the fibre glass.
