Porsche v 306 diesel.
Discussion
Just thought you may like to hear a little story........
Coming home from Pocklington the other night I find myself behind a 306 diesel, he's trogging on (90 ish) so I don't bother to overtake, just sit behind him chatting to my passenger for about 4 miles, listening to a bit of music, generally just relaxing while being thankful I'm not stuck behind a nissan micra driven by a perm.
after 4 or so miles he pulls off and my girfriend see's the driver and passenger of the 306 laughing and pointing, this confused us for quite a while...............................................
We eventually realised he'd been "racing"

It wasn't a turbo diesel was it?
what happened did he get a downward gradient after 4 or so miles?

I had a similar experience driving home late last Tuesday through Bradford, except this time is was aggressive tailgating and undertaking by a driver of a new Ford Mustang V8. Amusingly, because of the weight of his compared to mine and the sluggish autobox I was able to wait until a fairly steep, long hill and just drive away from him. Very enjoyable.

obviously you are talking Km/hr which makes you a master of restraint and sensible driving
A similiar event happened to me last week, but not such of a fairytale ending.
Pulled out of my estate, turning right at the small roundabout to head up a 'sort of' 2 mile stretch of country road which has a few bends and gradients (good driving road) which joins our estate to the main roads. Saw this little white MX5 at the roundabout which waited for me to turn right up this road.
It was early in the morning and the roads were damp so wasn't pushing it much at all, just driving according to the conditions I suppose. Arrived at the T junction and sat behind a few cars for about 5-10 secs, then looked in my r/v mirror when I heard a skidding.
This MX5 was going too fast round this slight bend (20 deg) 50 yards behind me, lost the back end and by the time he caught it was already pointing at a small wall over the canal bridge. Not pretty !!
I realised that the driver was obviously trying to race a "911 Turbo" ... and I hadn't even realising it !!!
I half expected a young lad (who borrowed his mums car) to get out, but a guy of about 30-35 got out and started kicking the tyres.
In reflection, and it's always better to look on the brigth side of things .... it's things like this that prove how immensely capable a 911 is !!!
(Pleased to say the guys was ok .... apart from having a smashed bonnet, wing, headlights, arch liner, subframe, wheel ....... and a very red face)
