Its never been on before, I sent it in at the request of a friend of the driver. More pics are available if anyone wants to see! The other pics show how useless the 'roll cage' was but u can also see bits of blood thats why they were not posted.

Dont think any roll bar would withstand that speed of impact. 130mph on the road is asking for trouble but with a passengernono
Its much safer on track...

Really bad news for the driver but IMO that car did an amazing job of protecting the occupants if the description of the accident is to be believed - both very luck to escape alive.

Looking at that, I am very pleased my 350 has a roll cage.... it clearly does work.

Cheers

The description is an eye witness account from the original police paperwork. I agree, the saftey cell did well. I think a normal car proberbly would have been much worse.

These car's are stronger than you think, Not good news for the occupants though. It's easy to say 130mph should only do that on a track, but these cars are so tempting you can't help it. were all guilty of a bit of welly sometimes. 23 thoughscratchchin

Well........ i think 23 is far to young to be owning a car with this type of perfomance, it takes experience and maturity for this type of thing to not happen, and at 23 most people are severly lacking in both!

I totally agree. I am only 27 but now have 10 years driving experience, started with a MG TF, then Lotus Elsie 2, then Boxster S and now my PAJ... T350. Very surprised he got insured. Must have some serious coin-ig !! Very sad

Unfortunately (or fortunately) not all 23 year olds are the stereotype overconfident drivers. After all, many will have had 5+ years driving experience by then. Its all down to the individual - there are some 30 year olds I think shouldn't even be driving, and there are some 21 year olds who I think are very good drivers. The biggest problem seems to be showing off/falling victim to peer pressure - not all young lads are the same.

yeah shame he didnt drive more sensibly?

I've done these speeds and whilst I'd be upset for myself if I hurt myself I'd expect no sympathy at all - specially if I hurt someone else

The reason 23 year olds own TVR's is second hand TVR's are worth peanuts..

If they get any cheaper they will become chav cars for the asbo boys.

Id hardly call 40k cheep it was a 04 plate car! I think its more likely due to the housprices rising way out of the reach of most people. 'oo, i can get a loan for 40k, but its not enough for a house, hmmmm, what else can i buy.......', i think ill stay with daddy just a bit longer!

i disagree with the comments on young drivers driving these cars, me being 21. im not going to say im a driving god, but i am very concious of my surroundings, the road surface, air temprature, other traffic, are things i spend as much time looking for as i do watching the revs and speed.

i have had 1 on 1 driver tuition, done skid control course's and had track tuition from gordon sheddon the touring car driver 2 years ago, when he was an instructor, he said i have a good natural ability on the track at least and suggested i get into racing of some sort. that doesnt make me a great driver, but i am more than capable of the power of my T350 and know where my limits are.

Graham you are relatively sensible though and have taken advanced driving.

A lot of people/(most) dont do that when they upgrade to a high performance car even at a reasonably mature age. You have grown into your car and its performance and taken requisite steps to know how to control it.

Age is a very subjective thing about performance cars. There is a heated debate about this same thing going on in the Lambo/Fez forum after a 21yo girl was killed at the wheel of a Murci. Sometimes there are just accidents that happen and sometimes ppl get to drive a car with a performance level they know nothing about.
