Anyone ever got such cover for weekend/week/month on a car registered to someone else?

Have tried, but wasn't able to get temporary insurance for anything over £40k.

Norwich Union do temporary short term insurance. Earlier this year I got insurance for a Cayman S for 24 hours for myself and my wife - £20. My local OPC had offered to lend me their demonstrator for the day, provided I could arrange insurance.

I don't know what maximum value they will cover. £50,000 for the Cayman was no problem. Go on line and try them out.

You enter your details and those of the car. Pay by credit card. And then print out an insurance certificate. It couldn't be easier.

They must have changed their conditions since May. I did notice some other providers limited cover to £40,000.
