At 4pm today I pick up my first ever proper bike. I can't wait.... leathers, helmet, gloves and boots are all ready to go and waiting near the front door already.

As soon as bike turns up I shall be out and about and, no doubt, giggling like a little girl

Have you applied an anti fog layer inside your visor? If not, you've got chance to do it now!

Supposedly my new Shark helmet is anti fog already!!! Is that not quite true and if not what do I need?

Yeah, always take it easy for a bit when you get a new vehicle. If you potter around and are disappointed on the first outing, there's always tomorrow for a bit more fun. But if you cane the scensoredt out of it first time and put it up a tree, there's no taking it easier tomorrow!

On the misting-up issue, do the secondary inner "double glazing" bits on SHOEI visors actually stop mist, or is it just balls?

That is VERY much on my mind. That's why I ended up with a SuperMoto which will hopefully hone my handling skills by being very maneouverable but not too fast!!!

Ahh, pretty much the same as before, however this time I couldn't see the corner coming, as my visor was completely covered in fog! Managed to get off the brkaes in time to save it though!!

Yeah, I've tried everything, and am even getting a new helmet hoping this will resolve the fogging issue!!!

Chilli, you say you are down my way? If so I shall try and keep an eye out for any bikers riding 'with the force'!!

Can see why you are advising me to stear clear of the Gixxer thou' for a first bike...I thought I would be able to ride AND see where I was going, not one or the other

Chilli have you tried the Respro Foggy Mask? I use one and it works fine with no misting up of the visor. Try one mate, they sell them at Square Mile Motorcycles in Dowgate Hill just by Cannon Street station, if anything it's woth the £12 odd just to give it a try.......and maybe you'll see that corner a bit clearer you know I'm only jesting mate
