Bonnet Rollers

Anyone know if these are readily available? One of mine is cracking and worn flat on one side - obviously not rolling as it should. Presume they are just turned from nylon bar?

I was having a look at mine the other day as I was replacing the (what I assume is) velcro(!) in the roller channel. The nearside roller does not and cannot be made to turn - I wonder if it isn't fixed! Mine isn't worn yet but that may be cos I don't get the bonnet up that often. Do you think you might be better off beefing up the padding in the channel? I've found that stops the bonnet wobbling about so much.

You can remove the rollers by removing the bolt on the end and to stop the bonnet flapping i put electrical tape around them.

Works a treat guys.

Rollers were available when I changed couple of years back. Also 'beefed up' channels with filler to stop bonnet trying to eject. Simple fix to annoying problem.

They should roll freely, I’ve now converted from electrical tape to solid rubber tyres made from an old cycle inner tube. Two of these on each roller and a little silicone grease fits perfect and runs nice and smooth.

Thanks for the tip Simon. Where doea the silicone grease come in - do you mean they slide now rather than roll?

I filled the areas of the grooves that had worn and now with tyres on the rollers are a good fit, the grease stops the rubber sticking and helps keep it supple (may be only my perception) but it is now nice and smooth in operation an doesn’t rattle any more.
