Just moved my cars to A Plan. I'd really recommend them, great service, easy, good quote.

Simon - I've been there for 3 years now and no reason to complain... except (you know me!!) they insisted on having my car listed as a 4 seater GT2 until I sorted that out with them - suggest you just check the schedule details to make sure they've got yours right.

I went with them this year too, I spent a good half a day finding the best quote for them to beat and they knocked 60 quid of the best I got and didnt chop out the extras.

do they have the 'ring clause' in their policy?

Been with them for some years - they really are very competative and very helpful.

I tried to go with them but they were not able to quote me competitively. I am only 25 however and they were only about £400 off budget shop elephant.

They seemed to be very helpful and genuine which is unlike the majority of insurance companies. Since signing up with elephant I have had nothing but hassle from them, including them losing myno claims certificate and threatening to invalidate my insurtance policy cos of their own incompetence. I am not trying to name and shame elephant, just stating that I should have paid the extra £400 and gone with A plan and not had to go through the huge amount of grief that being a tight fist nearly always causes!

GO FOR A PLAN

ps I dont work for them

I have just contacted these guys for a quote after reading the good comments above. Although I liked the sound of their service and the price they don't offer additional track day cover which was a bit of blow.

I nearly went with A Plan until the Guy I bought my 996 off told me he was with them but changed to Churchill as they have a clause in the policy to say if your car is stolen from (I think it is within 1 or 2 miles) of your house they will not pay. Eg if you go to the pub and walk home.
Don't know how true it is. I went with Adrian Flux for the same price although their customer service is dire.

Thats certainly not in my policy. The only thing remotely similar is that if the car is stolen all keys must be given to the insurance company.

Quotes so far for my 997GT3:-

Porsche Insurance £2700
Peart £2350
Flux £1400
A Plan £1369
Elephant.co.uk £1299 yikes

Not bad to say I was paying £900 for a 10 year old 993C4.
