Speeding with an Overseas License?
Discussion
Question for any resident BiB on this forum??
An employee of mine has driven through a speed camera in his car last week and has come to ask me about driving in the UK on an Indian License.
Firstly let me say he does not drive our company vehicles.
How long can he drive in the UK on his Indian License?
What will happen if a NIP comes through his door? Does he just fill it stating he has an overseas license?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Also bear in mind that if prosecuted for speeding because he does not hold a UK Licence then NO conditional offer but an appearance at a Magistrates Court.

I've often wondered what happens if you are resident in two countries within the EU. For example, I'm thinking of buying a home in Portugal and spending up to 6 months a year there soon, having passed my retirement age. I shall be permanently resident/temporarily resident in both, depending on your point of view. Some years I might be abroad for 7 mopnths or more, others 6 months or less.
I guess you just ignore the times and decide which licence you want to keep as valid. Maybe that depends on how many points you have??
The same goes for country of registration of your car(s) one might suppose.
It's a bit of a grey area really and EU regulations forbid any artificial barriers to the movement of goods or people within the community.
