First Bike, First Mini Hoon...... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Discussion
Just got back from my first outing on my new bike... OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unloaded it from the truck, rushed in to get my gear on and away ....... tons of torque to scare me for quite a while and a great high seating position that means you can see everything around you and around the other cars on the road.
I am going to seriously love this bike and biking in general. Strange to not have my instructor talking to me via intercom though!!!
Happy biking everyone

Great stuff, just spend time getting used to the bike. Tis a great feeling eh, and the weekend is on it's way...
Unfortunately flying out to US on Saturday on business for a week
But... no work this week after lunchtime today so lots of time for some fun!!!Sounds ok.. A few days on the bike, then a few days to reflect an decide what you ned to buy next. Isb't the states a great place to buy cheap biking gear? (or did I just make that up?!)

My suitcase is very empty on purpose
Went for my first proper hoon today. Lots of twisty roads and a couple of dual carriageways. The bike handles so brilliantly on the twisties.... really can throw it from side to side. Even got up to 90MPH on the open road but, boy do you get some serious buffeting!!! Conclusion.... made a great choice of my fist bike!!!!
And the best bit... seeing a long line of cars queueing and just riding past them. Now that's magic

I remember my first filtering foray. Just as you say, A queue of cars at some lights, so I piss past 'em all and as I get to the lead car the lights go green.
Absolutely mint.

yes did my first filter recently, what fun. got to laugh when the knob in the Focus tryed to keep up

Did my first filtering on the way back from the test centre. 8/10 cars at lights. Filtered up the outside (plenty of room) behind the instructor.
Felt great. Though would be a lot more caucious/nervous going down the middle of a two lane. Think the ideal is to just keep the speed down to a level you are confortable with (very slow but above a wobble
). Will do me for now - don't see the point in hooning down the middle to certain death if someone pops over for a look see...

The ST11 is about a mile wide across the mirrors (which are also about the same height as car mirrors) so you have to be damn sure it'll fit before you squirt through a gap.
Quite funny creating a 4th lane when the M62 was at a standstill by Hartshead Moor services after some numpty ground to a halt in the middle lane
Two mile tailback? No problem

Only problem I find with filtering is knowing where to draw the line:
Stationary traffic, no problem, squirt through them all.
3-5mph, like your normal crawling tailback: fook sitting around here, Ahm'a commin thru!
15-30mph inner city mway tailback: hmm, I could just squirt by this couple. Oh and that one. Oh and that one is just a bloody menace, get him behind me!
Next thing you know yer dressed in black on a black gixxer thou and releasing videos to the general public of your insane filtering.
Then reality hits you and you realise that filtering through traffic doing 50mph is probably fatal.
