Mas 3200 CD Changer
Discussion
Hi all,
My 3200 came without CD changer. I would like to add one. It has a becker head unit. 2 questions.
Is the wiring preinstalled and if so where does it come out - I'm guessing somewhere in the boot right?
Second I want an easy install (ideally plug and play) so was thinking a Becker changer. Or would any changer work without too much messing about? Finally if I do go for a Becker unit is there only one model that would work or would pretty much any Becker changer work right?
Pretty basic questions, but then I have pretty basic understanding (and interest really) in In Car Entertainment.
Hope someone can help!

if i recall right...(its a few years back) my maser head unit was a blaupunkt with sat nav and the autochanger was a sony. suggesting that they are cross compatible or at least some makes are. i bet the pre wiring isnt there but doesnt sounds like a major deal. autochanger was in boot to one side
BUT do you have an ipod? better solution is to use that. if you can get a wire in from the back of the stereo to the glovebox or centre console installed you would have a far better set up, possibly you can use the cd input socket on the stereo. ipod far superior to cd changer, much bigger storage. ok bit fidly to use on move and the nanos go flat quickly but u can get an in car cigeratte lighter charger now i think
just a thought

hi robert,
honestly ive no idea if wiring will be there or not. i suspect not as if i recall right the cd changer was a lot more expensive than the actual unit would cost, but then it may have just been a rip off. I would suggest calling maranellos or meridien's service dept. probably they would know straight off

Have also chased this option. I have becker mexico traffic pro - which is only compatible with certain (older) becker cd changers. sse becker main site for details. Might have posted something here or pver on maserati forum. Reckon cable is most likely not fitted. I will probably just keep feeding single cd's into the head unit and get an ipod connector.
