OK, I've had the car since June and I've been going on about what a pussycat it is, just a fast 911 that does what you tell it, etc.

Well now's it's time for me to get some stick, but I've got to admit to it and issue a 'warning' to all the other new owners. If it saves one panel it'll be worth the abuse.

When Phillip Woolley sold me this car he issued one warning. Don't get caught in bad weather when you're in a hurry. Well today it happened. A greasy road, me late, progressively increasing throttle, 0.1 bar, 0.2 bar, 0.3 bar, SIDEWAYS eek

It was simple to catch, but I really was NOT expecting it to happen in a completely straight line.

Have fun, be safe, and can someone please protect me from the scary monsters.

Glad that the story ends well with no harm done other than to your underpants! Better tuck it away for the winter and get yourself a 4wd turbo for the greasy months....

That's not an option as I just couldn't live with the reaction from KayC. It was easy to control, just unexpected. Hopefully I'll keep it on the road through the winter and be a better driver for it.

Bring on the snow and ice hehe

Something adulterating the road surface, perhaps?

Road straight but changing camber?

There's always a reason.

It may have been a wet leaf or something treacherous like an acorn?

A very honest post ,well done Simon.( for keeping it on the black top not for being honest ) hope you don`t get too much stick for it.

It also highlights one of the major differences between the tt and the gt2.

Plenty of muddy , greasy roads around just now in Suffolk due to the sugar beet harvesting so caution is the present mind set in the conditions, even more than normal- but nothing like you describe has happened so far , even when I`ve been pressing on, this for me is enough reason to relish the tt and raise my hat to you and all the other gt2 owners.

OK, if you're going to use it through the winter instead of a nice, stable 4WD version then at least ensure that your life insurance is adequate and up to date!

Having said that, even the 4WD version won't save you if exceed the limits when the going is slippery - I've frightened myself when all the boost has arrived in the wet but then I don't have KayC's PSM safety net I suppose....

I had the same in a V12 jaguar with probably half the power of yours. Ended up doing a 360 down the A12, which was nice. There's no way you'd catch me in a GT2 in the damp! Hence my scaredy cat nickname, 4WD from now on please. eek

I second that! I used to love my M Coupe on 85% worn tyres, great fun looking out the side windows everywhere!! GT3 has way more grip can be a bit too safe on new rubber!!

Z3M Coupe? I used to do that until it wrecked a perfectly serviceable pair of underpants. Tootling along the motorway at about 65 mph in bad weather. The weather got worse, and then torrential, so I slowed to about 55. Was approaching a truck in the slow lane about 200 metres ahead, so decided to pull out gently for a slow overtake. Indicator on, gentle steering applied, ran through some deep ruts left by HGVs which were full of water, the car did a little wobble and then it was off. From absolutely nowhere, the car did a 720 that took place so fast that I'm still not sure WTF happened. Aquaplaning? Aqua-frickin-aerobatics more like. Luckily there was no other traffic around so I didn't hit anything, though my buttocks clenched so tightly that I nearly tore the leather from the seat. Last time I'll scrimp on springing for a new set of tyres that's for sure.

Just don't let it play on your mind and ruin your continued experience simon.

Sometimes the car gives you a gentle reminder when you forget what a focused, uncompromising bulletproof piece of engineering it is.
