Wireless network set up

Bought a lap top and a wirless router. Got the internet gong fine but now want to see the main computer drive on the lap top and share the printer. I have tried all the set up instructions created a file on the memory stick etc. but can't seem to make it work. Can anyone help? Also how do I find the mac id of my computers?

assuming you are using windows

ipconfig /all in a dos prompt will give you the mac address.

Bit of a confusing question. If I kind of follow what you are saying then you need to view the contents of another PC from your laptop and use its printer? If this is so and windows xp (if thats your O/S) is set up to configure ip adresses automatically as well as same workgroup etc, then all you have to do is to go to the other PC and go to the folders (or entire disk) you want to see and right click on the icon, then select sharing and follow the instructions to sort out permission. With printers you need to go to the printers folder in control panel and pretty much do the same right click on the printer then sharing and follow instructions. You then need to add a printer on your laptop and select network printer. It should then find the printer on the network so select that and it will set it up for you. Cross fingers.

windows key + R (or start->run)
type cmd in the window and hit return
