Which car, from 1947 to date, most closely captures the true spirit of TVR and why? Thought it might be an interesting question to pose. Although i've got a Cerb which i really like i have a feeling it would probably be something like a Vixen, or an S, maybe even the Chimaera, as they seem to hark back to an era of enjoyable country lane performance motoring for enthusiasts or is that being too nostalgic. Any thoughts?

Even though I currently have a Chimaera, it has to be the Griffith, no question in my mind. It was the TVR that awakened my 'want' gland and it continues to encapsulate all the virtues that TVR stands for.

I'd go with the Griffith, it captures the true essence of the brand. Classically stylish with a timeless design, loud and very brutish!!

It also put TVR back on the map and launched them into the stratosphere popularity wise, the Chimeara is a close(ish) 2nd.

I first set eyes on the Griff at the 1993 motor show and i thought it was the most perfect shaped car i had ever seen.

And today this is still my opinion, I love em

TVR, God Bless em

close call; the Griff, Chimaera and Cerb all do it for me, but surely the S and 3000's ?

I'd have to say both the Griff and Chim, purely because in my eyes they both show the true sprit of TVR. If I had the money I would have both!

Its got to be the 3000M TURBO. TVR were the first car manufacture to build a Turboed car for public, that was 1976 how about that then.

As a long standing fan (many years before I got one) I'd love to nominate the Cerbera as it stands for the quality build and mentalistic performance that has become the mark of TVR. However I would have to agree with the current trend and say it's the Griff. An enduring model and true bastion of what is TVR.

Side point - If TVR is saved from going to the dogs... errr... I mean going abroad then how about we suggest to whomever is then the management of the company that the first new model to come into production is called the Phoenix, based upon the symobolicism???

I am a little biased, but I would have to say that it is the Cerbera.
It has a TVR designed engine, as opposed to the Rover V8 units (originally derived from an old Buick engine?) and other engines that have been used on the early cars
It is such a fantastic looking car inside and out, and the whole 'Cerbera experience' with the performace, noise, and the overall presence that they have is amazing!!
Cerby4.5

If not, then as has been said before the 'purest' TVR for me would be a Griff!!

Cerbera, has everything a tiv needs...
noise, horsepower, V8, looks interior and exterior, blistering straight line speed, torque, handling, even schizophrenia.... and most importantly.....sheer wow factor.....even after 3 years of ownership.
