I know the QV is a better looking car but are they any different to drive? I would prefer a QV but there are always some Anniversarys for sale. Somebody out there must have driven both?

Speak to Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport 01444 455100. He would of driven both extensively and will give you an honest answer.

When I researched before buying mine, the majority of people recommended a QV unless you specifically want an Anniversary. The reasons they gave varied, but included things like the Anniversary is heavier due to electric seats and electric windows, but has the same engine as the QV. Not many people like the styling of the Anniversary, especially the rear. Some felt that residuals of the Anniversary would not appreciate as well as the earlier models simply because it was the most numerous model, and therefore not as 'rare' as the others.

Ultimately it will come down to personal choice based on what is available when you come to buy. If available carss are ina similar condition I would go for the QV. However, there may come a point where an Anniversary might tempt you if it is in considerably better condition than any QVs that may be available.

I'm hoping to be in the market for a Countach or a Diablo in the next few months once my current toys have sold. I was initially not keen on an Anniversary but they've grown on me a lot, so I'll be perfectly happy with one myself. Depends what's available when I'm in the position to buy. I figure I should get the best car for the money rather than be too picky, as long as I like it of course. I plan to do most of the maintenance myself so it's more important to me that it's a good up together car rather than the exact model. There are a few Anniversarys out there with good history and low mileage, but only one pre-Anniversary QV on Auto Trader, and that has 38K miles on it and hasn't sold at £45K. I figure 38K miles pre-Anniversary against circa 10K miles Anniversary with proper history for under £50K, I'll take an Anniversary then ! Some nice Diablo's around between £50K and £60K too. I'm really looking forward to having the money and looking seriously, the realisation of my boyhood dream. Does anyone know if Mike Pullen is happy to talk to potential owners and impart advice ? I know lots about them from years of loving Lambo's but still have more research to do. I'll want to have a good chat with an impartial specialist nearer the time. Also, am I right in thinking he's the main man for parts and service (I'm not planning to do the really specialist stuff myself) ? If yes to both, can anyone PM me his number and/or URL please ?

QV, everytime. It is a better drive, lighter, and the seats go farther forward for those of us not blessed with long legs.

And it just looks better.

You have basically come to exactly the same conclusions as I have. Although everyone seems to favour the QV, they are more expensive and very dificult to find. As you say a high mileage QV and a low mileage Anniv seem to be about the same price. Mike Pullen is a top man and has been very helful also try David Price at the owners club (we know your out there DAVE!). I'll let you know how I get on and when you come to do the deed drop me a line and I'll impart any wisdom I can. I think Mike's website is www.lamborghinisport.com.

Targaman - well done mate. Is it the one at Top Gear cars by any chance ? The red 7500 miler with the pre-Anniversary wheels ? I saw on Monday it's now sold. I've had my eye on that for a while but not sold my current toys so couldn't do anything about it. Looked nice in the pics and he seems to have a good reputation. If it's as nice as I thought, and you've bought it, I'm truly jealous. I keep looking at the Purple Diablo SV he has, but a little more money than I expect to have available. There's a lovely Violet SV on Auto Trader too at the moment with Darren Brocklehurst. At £80K it's definately more than I could go to, and a bit overpriced I think: Carlo's Purple SV is an R plate with 2K miles more and £10K cheaper. Oh, I'm dreaming again, sorry. Well done on the purchase, lets see some pics ASAP eh?
I'll take you up on your offer and contact you when I'm ready to go for a purchase, to get your experiences etc.
Cheers.

Those wheels won't be on the car. They're just on there while mine are being refurbished. How do I move the photo from my profile to here?

Will do, I still can't believe I've bought it. All I have to do now before it turns up is widen the entrance to the garage and find a good home for my 964.
