Noisy Lifters

97 Chim 500 with 50k, just developed noisy lifters, anyone used 10/60 oil to cure, or any other ideas, Thanks

Not sure what noisy lifters sound like...but I do know that if my 97 450 with 40k miles is filled with 0w/xx Mobile 1 it rattles. Changed it for 10w/40 and all is well no more rattles

I've just changed my mobil 0/40 to castrol RS 10/60 in the hope that it would quieten my 500 (it has a tick which could be cam/valve train/ex gasket). Lovely clean oil, but noise is still there

or maybe lost a rocker pad?

Have you tried hydraulic lifter treatment? then start using Mobil 1 15/50 anything else is too thin.

Hi Andy, just changed oil to 10/60 and added wynns lifter treatment, only done 6 miles since and no different, don't know wether to go on a longer run to allow mix to circulate.
