They are perfectly usable all year round. Both my Tuscan and Sagaris was/are used everyday, even in snow (carefully!)
Good points are fantastic performance and better sized boot than something like a Boxter or Z4. And loads of attention (if you like that sort of thing).
Bad points are servicing cost and the little TVR niggles that you wouldn’t get on a “normal” car.

Had mine since April 05 and have driven it in all weathers and nearly every day-(every work day in London traffic). Had a few problems with sensors otherwise it's been a sweet car.Tracked it at Goodwood this week-first time in a T350 and it was so good,Power, poise, instant response.
Its a joy to own and drive.

in my honest opinion no. You will find a few weeks in winter when the snow comes down that driving practically any car like ours is asking for trouble. But for 50 weeks of the year, if you can live with the occassional niggles and visit to the dealers then yes. You will make sacrifices, possibly make good friends with the very nice man, but when its on song you will look back and think everything was worth the grin on your face. Just buy as late a model as possible wih the warranty.
These cars are very well mannered, in general. Mine starts first time, every time, without throttle. She is calm enough at lower revs to drive comfortably in City traffic - much better mannered than the V8-era cars. And bonkers if you put your foot down, obviously.
From what you have written I would say:
Your daily drive (every day = 8k miles) sounds short; try to drive the long way.
Be careful with the right foot when the roads get slippy.
Try to wipe the smile off your face before you get to work - envy isn't pretty.
Get a good one and you won't look back. Have a sense of hunour though - these are hand-built cars and you will have minor niggles.

I must say that I'm really tempted to buy one too, as an everyday car - but can scrounge a van for the occasional really bad weather.
I am though, maybe wrongly, concerned about parts availability now that Blackpool is closing and rumours are rife about where production may or may not continue.
Always wanted a TVR - just unsure what to do...

Very true, 20+ years of TVR only motoring has been great fun.
Unforunately if you get a bad one you'll wish you never bothered
After what seems like endless problems with my current car (bought new) I'm now seriously tempted to get something else
