New engine spec for my Griff
Discussion
All
You may know that my engine gave up the ghost on the first day of a touring holiday in France in September!
End result: a grand tour of the Vosges Mountains in a Peugeot 206 Diesel !!
Anyway, every cloud etc etc, has resulted in my rebuild ending up as...
- 5.4 litre (5,354cc) V8 engine from Rob Robertson and V8 Racing with a full 'Rob' spec including Stage 5 heads and larger Bosch injectors
- Powder coated Rocker covers in red, obviously
- New rocker cover TVR badge courtesy of 'Markh' (Mark Helliker) on here..cheers mate
- Red silicone hose kit c/w stainless jubilee clips from ACT
- Stainless steel radiator pipes from ACT
- Magnetic sump plus courtesy of Steve Heath
- New oil filler cap care of Leven
- Double carbon plenum from ACT
- De catted, coned exhaust manifolds plus de catted Y piece - from ACT which will be ceramic'ed (in silver or red ...tba)
- Emerald ECU - Wiring Loom by Paul Dove - Coil Packs by Mongoose (thanks Mike! they arrived yesterday
)
- Chasis POR15'd
- Engine bay repainted and heatshield material renewed (sewing by Alistairs wife at Neil Garner Performance Engineering!!)
- New bonnet stay c/o Dave Beer
- All suspension bolts replaced by the Steve Heath bolt kit (NB New protechs were fitted in May this year)
- Stiffer rear suspension springs
- Better bump stops c/o Demon Tweeks
- Underneath Waxoyl'd for winter
- Balance of items done for a 12,000 mile service
- All Earth points checked and cleaned
- 2 x new Dunlop SP9000 tyres for the front
and, for the benefit of Mrs FFG...
- new rear number plate which will be put on straight this time!!
All work being done by Neil Garner Performance Engineering of Kemble, Near Malmesbury!!
Hopefully getting the car back sometime in the next 2 weeks...need to run in for a while and then HAPPY DAYS...oh...and 2 x half day RideDrive Courses
Thanks to those of you who have helped me out with advice etc - you know who you are!
Cheers

errr...cant talk numbers as Im not sure yet how much. I can only afford it as, lets just say its due to a change in personal circumstances!!
On the double/triple plenum I(we) didnt think the difference warranted the price difference at this stage.
Oh btw...I got £789 on fleabay for the remains of the old engine which was a result!
With a fair wind I am hoping it will be in a driveable state before the 25th/26th.
God Iv missed her....

Oh
...Id also kinda like to get up and see Joo as well as she went on his rr with the old engine so I could compare like for like... Should be interesting though...I reckon 350bhp-plus and not far off 400lb...we'll see. Need to run in properly and then get my Ride Drives done!
