It's good to see that the Manchester Police have got their priorities right then.
However, to embark on such a course of action with the attendant risks is somewhat foolish, given the determination that the cash must continue to roll in.
Yes, the man was foolish, but who can say what any of us would do given the liklihood of losing our livelihood over a couple of minor speeding allegations. There must be better ways to aviod conviction, like not speeding if you already have lots of points.

i wouldn't be suprised if that sort of thing happens quite a lot.

going to jail is a rather poor way to avoid losing your job, if you ask me.

Just register the car in her name. She will get ghost points on her license (I assume she has no plans to drive anytime soon) and you can slip the £60 each time she gets done for S172

Only 2 months for attempting to pervert the course of justice, I think he got off lightly.

Two months in prison for telling porkies about speeding? If this was applied to the police there'd be a few of them getting cock up their arse for breakfast in one of Her Majesty's hotels.

"Two months in prison for telling porkies about speeding?" - but its not is it, its "Two months in prison for telling porkies" - tell a lie under oath in court and get caught out, what you were lying about isn't the point

yes

There have to be severe penalties available for lying under oath, whatever the case is about.

Interesting that the police says
"otherwise law abiding citizens" try and get out of speeding.. Good to see them admit it is mostly nice people who get caught.

And WTF is the BBC quoting speeds in KM/H???!?!?

What compared to lawyers who never lie on behalf of the client? Those who live in huge glass houses should not throw stones or huge bloomin' great boulders.

Sounds like he'd have gotten away with it once or twice.
It was the string of same site captures with the same feeble excuse that did for him...

Yep and he didn't need to supply insurance or flight details etc but I guess he didn't know that and panicked.
