After a bit of advice really I have a 1994 968 sport with the following spec :

1994 M

Dark metalic grey no scratches or dents/ black interior

79k (clock shows 58k clock change detailed in service book)

Last service 56k

Full service history (mainly opc)last service and belts 56k (i.e.77k)

Bills for everything for the last 5 years

last 5 mot's

good tyres all round

auto aligned (all straight) and set up for track / race use

Not recorded I believe but:

The car was damaged rear wing and door which has now been replaced and repaired my plan is / was to change it into a track day / race car so the repair is good but not perfect (the rest of the paint is excelent)

Interior is imaculate

Runs / drives very well and would make a superb track day toy

I am after a rough figure of what it might be worth, the only potential reason for sale is as I have an option on a fully built race car for a very realistic price and to be fair this one is too good to be raced !!!

Umm, £9-10k-ish? don't really feel the accident damage should affect it much, the speedo change I'd find a bit more off putting but that's probably just me.

Thanks the speedo change change is stamped by the opc main dealer and documented in both the service book. With old and milage was changed at 21k

So I can't see an issue

Thanks for the feedback

I think the 968 market is slow just now. I have seen cars as low as 6K and the ones over 12K hang around.

A perfect Sport on that mileage would make 9-10K.

With damage I guess you'll be lucky to get 7-8K

For quick sale £6.5K

Sorry if this is not what you want to hear but you should also check out some of Baz's posts on the 968 market. Downward pressure from Boxters and GT3s!

968 Are so hard to price at the moment but yours is the more desireable model with low mileage which will help.

If the repair is a good one I still think you could get between £8-£9K.

There are so many 968 out there for sale at the moment and some are very cheap (even if they are total dogs it still doesnt help the market being advertised to low).

As mentioned by others, there seem to be a lot on the market at present, which is pushing prices down. A less than perfect repair and a changed speedo won't help you. Whilst the speedo issue would not bother me personally, I'd be thinking might it make it harder for me to sell it further down the line, so I think it does detract from the cars value slightly.

For a private sale, I think I'd price it at £10k and keep a bit of flexibility in things. Although if you want a quick sale, EMC Engines in Birmingham had there eye out for one to go racing with. I think they were looking for a car at nearer the £8k mark though. Obviously the repair and speedo issues don't bother them (much). Let me know if you want their number.

Be careful with your advert wording as your first post sounds like it's on 79k but was last serviced at 58k - which sounds like it's well overdue a potentially big service.

£9-10k - it's a nice colour; a cat-D car I know sold recently at that sort of price & again it was a good colour & spec.

i would echo about 8-9k. The speedo change I think is irrelevant if there is OPC documentation to back it up. the damage is more of a worry and i would have thought a substantial amount off the target for an unblemished example. although its a desireable spec and model (within the range) there does seem to be a glut of reasonable examples at the moment with which you are competing. good luck in the sale

I've been looking round at the Market recently also as I have a very similar car, which I would be half tempted to sell at the right price, mine is a 94(L) Sport 76k miles FSH serviced last week, guards red etc, Some are priced at 14k some 8k, I would hope mine would hit the middle ground between these but that may be optimistic, if yours has a noticable repair then that may put some people off, I would have thought the speedo change shouldn't affect it too much as it is fully documented however that can aslo put people off!

Good luck with the sale....

If the race car is the spec you want and is in good condition I would buy the ready built car..... it is never cheaper to try and build one.
