Evening Folks,

This is a question for wide angle lens users (past or present).

I currently have (amongst others) a Sigma 15-30 f/3.5-4.5 which I am very happy with provided I take care with flare. I am however considering replacing this with a Sigma 10-20 f/4.0-5.6.

The only real reason for this is due to the extra wide angle capability of the 10-20.

So the questions, does anyone currently use the 10-20 and feels in a position to be able to compare it to either the 15-30 or a similar lens?

Does the extra 5mm make it worthwhile?

How much distortion do you see at the wide end? (the 15-30 is great in this respect).

And, is it really worth the extra angle when balanced against the fact that the lens is slower? This may seem an obvious to answer question if you have the experience of a lens this wide, but not actually knowing how much wider 10mm over 15mm is in the real world makes it difficult for me to know.

I thought I would post this here as I recall some people purchasing ultra-wide lens' a while ago.

Thanks in advance.

I have athe canon 10-22 and there is significant difference between 10 and 15mm. the distortion you get or the exagerated perspective is fine so long as you have the camera level and perpendicular to your subject

Thanks poah,
Do you happen to have any sample images you could post showing the comparison (10 to 15) please?
Or, any chance you could take a couple of shots for me? At your leisure though as this is not going to be a rush out and buy tomorrow job.
