Does anyone know if I can get a replacement windscreen with a top tint? I know clear screens are available.

Autoglass can do them with Sundym tint all over (as on my heap) but I'm not sure about a top band. Might be worth giving them a ring.

Can I suggest that you speak with tripps (Rob) as he is going through this at the moment. He might be able to offer some good advice.

One of my M's has a blue top tint so they did make them a while ago.

I am expecting to have to change the screen on my V8 soon as it has some big chips in it, no fun when the sun is low and in your face.

Anyone had to change one lately, if so how much did it cost, was it tinted, did they change the rubber, did they do a good job and who did it?

Not sure what the situation if for M screens, as I seem to remember they were from the parts bin, but I may well be wrong.

I've had almost two months of fun getting the screen for my S3, and a few others have had similar problems also. So I'd strongly recommend shouting at your insurance company until they let you use a specialist, otherwise you could be without a car for a while, have to put up with a botched job and / or have a torn dashboard top.

See the thread here for more details.

Also be very wary if you speak to call centre staff at the large replacement agents, their database of TVRs is inaccurate and the staff lacking in common sense. Some have tried to me what my car is!

Ted for instance had an "S Tourer" windscreen fitted to his - evoking images of a BMW style estate with an S nose on with me

Yes it's true. I think it's a Consul MKII Lowline and it fits the Vixen too.
