Water pump bearing

i have a 2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.1 and on load you can hear a whirring noise from the engine .seems to be coming from the belt driven side!

have been told that it could be the watrer pump bearing on its way out..wondered if anyone has come ascroos this problem!

would appreciate any comments!!

Grab the water pump pulley and try to waggle it about. If it moves you've found your problem. Water pumps are changed as a complete item rather than changing the bearing.
