Driving along the other day in my mark 1 Tuscan looked down to my horror I was doing 195mph, well thats what the speedo said either that the Eddie Stobbart lorry I was following had a bit of a wriggle on.

Then it started bouncing all over the place down to zero up to 195mph again, then just stopped at 0. So merrily driving along with 0mph on the clock.

Also the horn no longer works don't know whether that it is connected but has anyone got any ideas to what could be the matter! Could it be water ingress somewhere??

Thanks in advance

Crikey - 195mph!! Seriously though, was it the digital or the analogue readout that was incorrect? Or were they both out? I am no expert but there is some useful info on the TVRCC website on the common faults and there should be some older posts on here about similar occurrences. Could be a sensor or could be the pod playing up. Was it a particularly bumpy road when you noticed the error and were there any diagnostic codes flashing up at the same time?

Did you get your "tram-lining" sorted, by the way? Read your post and wanted you to know that I have Toyo Proxes on my 2001 Tusc and it always tramlined a lot (par for the course to a certain extent I think) but improved greatly when I got the Geo set up right.

Excerpt from TVRCC website:

Speedo reading not correctly:

On the Mk I Tuscan there are two speedo readings, the brass needle and the electronic readout. If the electronic readout is incorrect, this points to the speedo sensor needing cleaning or being replaced. A dealer can do this. If the electronic readout is correct but the brass needle is wrong, this will require the pod being removed and sent back to the factory for fixing.

Cheers Andy, its both readings that are out, wished I had taken a picture when the needle was at 195mph that would have been funny, mind you mrs would have killed me if she found it.

Haven't changed the tyres yet but probably in the next month, I'll let you know how I get on with them!

Looks like it may be the sensor thats goosed! Living in Cumbria all the roads are bumpy. Was wet though!

Mine used to do that on the Tuscan. Not only are you doing 195mph
on the speedo you are also adding 3 miles to the odometer every minute ?

Mine did exactly the same, also whilst stationery!

And Andy is right, I could see the miles just piling on when stood in the drive way!!

A new Speedo transducer cured the problem

Cheers

Well you got it 15mph faster than mine!

180 mine in a 30 limit! yikes

In my case it was Pod out and back to the repairers for re-calibration.

Luckily all done under warranty by Fernies.
