Time for a positive thread

Alright after all the bad news, fighting, bitching, complaining (which I have undoubtedly been a part of) its time to lighten the mood!
What is your best TVR memory??
As a non owner at the moment I have no personal ownership memories, but being exposed to the members of the TVR fraternity (even at work) is a good enough experience and memory to fall back upon.
I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever come accross all thanks to TVR including members of this forum such as Kev63, Daftlad and Mrs S, Oliver Edwards, Chris Simms and Tallbloke Tattersall himself!!!
Whats your best experience??

Excellent idea for a thread....maybe comment by model??
Here goes....Tuscan S Mk1....In no special order:
-Watching the excited reaction of kids when seeing the Tuscan........'WOW look at that'
-People fumbling with their mobile phone's in car's next to me to take photo's
-Group of Poles in a clapped out Merc on the M25 delightedly egging me on to give it some beans....naturally I had to oblige for EU harmony!
-Steaming up the M1 on way to Back Home, line abreast with a Lambo owner....each giving one another the thumbs up
-The general look of bewilderment on some aged pedestrians faces
-Smiles and curiosity from most motorists
-Having a 'track day' with the master (Michael Caine-Works TVR Driver, and Guinness lover!)
-Having the guy that built the chassis of my car sitting in the car up at Blackpool on the 3rd
-Ditto woman who built the dash
-Watching pokey machinery disappear into the far distance in my rear view mirror
Most importantly.....the huge smile it puts on my face when ever I drive it.....amazing/insane machine....I love it

When I had my first TVR, a Griff 500, I was leaving a show near Bristol crawling along in the traffic when three lads shouted "Hey mister what is it, 3 litres?" 'No, five actually' as I roared off to close the gap. I will never forget the look on their faces and their scream in unison "Whooaar!!!!!"
Another time touring the Lake district my girl and I had stopped in a layby to look at the map and a car coming from the opposite direction stopped, got out, ran over to me, tapped on the window saying " Just thought I'd let you know, there's a speed trap ahead" That car just looked like trouble.

The sheer thrill of driving my first TVR away from the seller will always be my most treasured memory. I was fortunate to be accompanied by my 14 year old daughter who squealed in delight all the way round London's North Circular (top off, of course - no, the car
)Tough question, the majority of my favourite motoring memories are TVR-related.
Red 60s Griffith with 'CND' Mk1 Cortina lights (same as the ice cream van) burbling down Kenton High Street when i was a nipper was the moment TVRs entered my consciousness.
Years of egging on Wedges to give it the biggun by tailgating them
First sight of the 90s Griffith at THAT Motor Show
First drive of a Griffith in 1995, took delivery in 1996.
Then it all goes fast-forward in a blur for 10 years...
Tuscan Challenge ... Cerbera 4.5 ... Tuscan ... Boss Cerbera...
Blats to Le Mans (well, blats everywhere!), races at Spa, *comparisons* with bikes and *no-comparisons* with other cars
Watching the skill and dexterity of three blokes at Blackpool build a car while I watched and then the first drive in that car, the orange press Sagaris, fresh off the line at just after midnight on a Friday. It was "faster than a pigeon".
...enough memories to write a book.
This year takes some beating:
Arriving in Casino Square, Monaco in the Boss Cerbera and being mobbed by tourists
Doing the 'Ring and Spa in my 4.5 - I still pause for a moment's silence reflecting on that trip... What an awesome car!
Could any other marque have delivered up anything close? Nope, not a chance.

Your a Lucky Man

Some fantastic memories and no doubt some powerfull emotions being evoked here
Im loving it!!
Here goes
First memory of seeing a TVR was seeing a family friend called Graham (if Oliver Edwards is reading this, he knows to whom I refer) arrive outside my cousins house in a stunning 3000M in yellow and later seeing him leave the biggest number 11's down the street!
Also being greeted by a swarm of S TVR's on Kirkstall road some 8 years ago ranging from V6 to V8 all burbling towards the city centre....still sends shivers down me back
Being offered my first ever ride out in a TVR only for it to be a V8 Cerbera....ohhh the delight as everything I had imagined came bursting into life with an almighty cackle from the exhausts on the overrun....absolutely deafening as the car in question is de-catted and bearing a sports exhaust (120+db's worth!!!!!)
Then being offered a ride out in a local (and nice) fellas 1971 TVR Vixen 2500 to which he had recently spent £5000 improving and upgrading the Triumph straight 6....the sound of that little beastie equalled any speed 6. That little Vixen is as noisey as hell on a rampage and goes like a stabbed rat!!!!
My friend offered to pick me up on one of the finest days ever to be gifted to a sunday morning and we headed up to the TVRCC meet at the Manor in Drigh in his V8S with the roof down...my first experience of a Rover V8 and convertible!!!!!!

Apat from when i first saw a yellow 450 seac go around Mallory Park in the 80s i think one of my many memeroble moments was when i saw a Chimaera for sale in a local Honda dealership, i called in and looked around it and the sales man came out, he said, would you like a test drive sir, well how could i refuse, i can still remember turning that key and hearing that V8, boy did i like that first outting iin a TVR, i didn't buy that one but i was hooked and bought one a few weeks latter and love em to bits.
I saw the Cerbera at a/the motorshow when first released, then on top gear etc and it was my dream car. I had to wait ten years whilst the kids grew up, we built up my wifes company etc before I could actually justify having one.
This year I actually bought one and it's everything and more I ever hoped it would be.

I know that feeling
My mate Brian (shout out for you there Bri')let me take the pilots seat in his V8S and passed me the keys so I could fire her up.....many people say "Its only a car/engine" but I have never felt anything quite like the moments when the starter kicks and you hear that big lumpy V8 burst into life!!!
About 25 years ago on my way back from work, following a guy almost every night who owned a local rest home as he shot home in his brand new Wedge. I loved it from the moment I saw it and always wanted one. He traded it up about three times over the next few years and I was completely in awe. It was even better than I thought when I drove my 400SE for the first time. Absolutely amazing.
Also visiting a very busy Bristol Avenue for the first time and Poser showing me round in his shorts and trainers. You just can't buy memories like that... "Come on then Pal!"
Watching the Tuscan Challenge at Oulton Park at it's peak and thinking 'They must be mad'.
Driving into Ettington Chase for the first Wedge Fest and seeing 100 Wedges all together in one place for the first time - it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end it really does.
Richard Wright inviting us to join Team Wright Racing to compete alongside Dean, Ben and Richard. A very proud moment.
The humbling experience of driving down Bristol Avenue last Friday, with Martin Lilley in my wing mirrors, to see the press on one side of the road and the Factory's finest on the other, and the Bristol Avenue crew actually applauding us! Not right at all. Just not right...
Lots of memories - and whatever happens we've been there and done that and no one can ever take it away.
Great cars and even greater people...

When I saw the Griff at its first Motor Show.
Pulling up to allow some 70 or so 8 yr old school kids to cross the road. Some gave the sign to rev it; when I did, all the kids clapped and cheered. Teacher laughed and told the kids it was a TVR Chimaera.
A Cerb pulling alongside me on the M40. After a brief wave at one another, he depressed his cluth, revved then engine, then dropped the clutch. Two black lines, lots of smoke and a rapidly disappearing Cerb. (Don't try this at home.)
Passing a people carrier on the A23. One kid presses his face against the window, kid on the other side undoes his belt and stands on the seat to get a look. I wave, dad turns around to tell the kids off, then looks out of the driver's window at my car. He winds his window down and signals me to rev it up. Dropped a gear and accelerated, saw in my mirror whole family, including the Mrs, waving or clapping.
The best one, which is repeated often, is opening the garage door and seeing my Chimaera there, just waiting for me.

I don't own a TVR but my favourite memory is when the service department needed to get a wedding present for one of our team. Heath said he would give me a lift into town in TVR100 Yellow Cerbera. We pulled up outside the card shop and I went inside. When I got to the till the assistant said 'Is that your car?' Obviously I lied and said yes (sorry everyone) and then she said 'And is that yours too?' (nodding at Heath) to which I just chuckled
I will never forget the drive past the workers last friday and the lump in my throat, or the first Back Home parade I saw go up the prom.
Spending the weekend with the South Wales Car club at Castle Combe - especially the lovely Pete Constable!
Every noisy weekend in Torquay plus my leaving do in Blackpool with the Brooklands guys.
Being invited to Pete's leaving do in Cwmbran was special as I had been gone from the factory a good while then.
All the great friends I have met and yet to meet.
These memories will never die and neither will the pride I had working at TVR and the love I still have for these truly beautiful British sports cars.
Edited to add - of course meeting my hubby (sorry love)

...using the unique bonnet (that nearly got me sacked by Graham Brown, an event that to one of my great TVR memories) as a gun sight I hope!
In the pouring rain outside the factory fronting up to GB (who was in a black/green/blue Tuscan S) to apologise for being an out of line c*ck, seeing the window drop, a lone hand emerge, a hand shake... no words... window up and a full bore take off in to the wind blown Bristol Avenue night.
Awesome car, awesome guy, awesome memory!
The one that started the whole TVR story for me was at Sporting Bears meet in Cambridgeshire when I was about nine. I captivated by this weird little sports car and voice of the owner who'd just walked up beside me imparted
"That's a TVR. I bet you never one before have you? It's made of plastic and has a very big engine, so it's very fast!",
totally convincing to a nine Y/O kid. The car, I later found out, was a Griffith of the Vixen/Grantura variety.
Soon after that, the Toyota garage I cycled past on the way to school changed hands and every morning these grumbling, growling spitting monster TR7s were being rolled around from the back of the compound. I didn't know why they were so loud, but I knew I liked it, and looked forward to seeing them again on the way home. Over a couple of years the cars changed and got roundier and more animal... but they sounded the same. I didn't connect these cars with the one from years before, but hey I was a kid!
I was travelling back to Cambridge one Friday evening in the CRX when I could see the traffic parting like the red sea in my mirrors to reveal Moses in the twin forms of a black 996 911C2S and Black Sagaris. These guys were jockeying at an impressive pace obviously having safe fun in the autumn sum, but not so impressive that little Rexxy couldn’t keep up. I rode in their wake all the way from Cheshire to Leistershire where I cut off towards Northants… I set my Cambridge the Blackpool PB that evening which, let’s say, was sub 3 hours.
Amazing to see animals like that running their natural habitat!
My best one has to have been driving from Blackpool to Brum to see a supplier and taking the development hack! The Candy Red Pre-Prodution Sagaris. It's the only time I've taken a TVR out on the road. It was raining, the traffic was solid and I barely got the thing over 80mph ( I would have made better progress in CRX as all eyes were on Sagaris), but with Liam and Noel providing the perfect soundtrack of northern belligerence, it really didn't matter.
These were all great times, and I hope I have many more to come with one the world’s most inspiring marques!

No... in my 4.5. A first-time novice run to suss out the 'Ring ahead of taking the Boss next year. Video clips from the 4.5 here I fell in love with the Cerbera all over again (not that I ever fell out, mind you) on the TVR Monster International tour. What a magnificant car, doubling up as a superfast GT to crush continents and the ultimate track weapon. 1200 miles in a long weekend including sub-9s at the 'Ring followed by sub-3s at Spa? Cerberas rule.
Nurburgring
Spa Francorchamps

The first time I drove the Cerbera in anger - Harewood hillclimb, in the wet...
Absolutely
unbelieveable buzz... can still vividly remember almost every second.
Other than that err: (all in dads hands)
Beating a porsche 993RS and C4S / several caterhams etc etc in the wet around a kart track (3 sisters) at a sprint.
Equalling an F40 at the Brighton speed trials with a new personal best.
Birmingham > Mulhouse > Lemans and back... 2000 miles, a quick play with a 996 Turbo on the motorway, upstaging a diablo in Mulhouse - guess they dont see TVR's that often!, enjoying LM as always and blasting home on the french motorways in the early hours.
Actually, all early hours french motorway runs.
The first drive home with a sports exhaust fitted.
Setting off car alarms everywhere all the time.
A quick drive to and from Samye Ling Tibetain Monestry in scotland... good day out, but by god was it an awesome drive to and from.
3rd gear overtaking down the N138... hmm 110-115 in about a blink of an eye, ten assorted cars/ lorries overtaken in one go - then hard on the brakes, round the roundabout quicker than expected and firing off down the next stretch.
Most dual carriageways - a Cerberas best friend, again launching off roundabouts and firing down them is a Cerbera specialty.
I could go on...
