Tom Tom, that is...

I'm looking to get one, but wondered what the differences between the two are. Apart from the 1/2 inch difference size screen.

I like the 'one' because of its silmline size that could easily fit in your pocket. But the 'Go' has got a slightly bigger/wider screen. Any other differences that I should know about which could sway my decision??

Any opinions or stories are greatly appreciated in helping me pick the right one.

Thanks
Cad

Try the Sat Nav forum!

The mount on the new One is absolute shite. Only bad thing about it. I have a review of the old style one if your interested.

Thanks for your reply Rob. Nice review.
I think I will have to do another search to get more info on both units as a comparison.

No problem. I've had a bit of a play with the new one, and would say that its a much nicer looking unit, and has a small amount of extra features, but besides that they are identical. Its just the fact that the mount for the new one looks absolutely rubbish. I don't know what it would be like to live with but when I put one in for a customer the damn thing fell off twice.

Is this the Tomtom One V2? With the really slim design, or have I got totally mixed up?

I had a TT Go 500. Twice. Both broke and ended up getting a One V2.

I'd take the One V2 everytime if all you need is the POI's and just navigation. The handsfree i had on a 500 was cack. It was too big compared to the One, but believe thats different with the 710 and 910. But for £199 its perfect. And the screen mount on mine sucks like a lady boy in bangkok so no problems there. In fact that was the one thing that made me nervous. The Go mount looked more substantial and i thought the new would vibrate more. However its sooo much better and not as bulky.

Issues? Well no carry case with the one. Thought the lack of home charger would be an issue but i just bought a USB plug off of ebay and it solved that issue.

Overall One V2 everytime.
