boxster s brakes - pads with more feel?

My fairly recently acquired Boster s 2001 model has pretty dead feeling brakes. Any advice on why - or any advice on pads with a little more feel?

get someone to have a look at the inner surface of the brake disc to see if its corroded up..chances are its glazed over with corrosion and effiecency is down....when was the brake fluid last replaced ?
