He's not just had an alarm or immobiliser installed, has he? Alarm fitters have a habit of spurring off a live feed, which plays havoc with Ford ABS systems.

Any chance of some more details on this one?

IIRC some models of Escort produced at about that time and earlier suffered from electrical problems as a result of water ingress.

When i brake i get judder/vibration through the pedal. i have replaced discs and pads 1100 miles ago. Took to garage who disconnected the ABS and removed the relay problem still occured. Only happens when moving forwards and when the car is running

you could possible have a out of balance wheel, warped disc or incorrectly fitted pads. with my GTi i was getting through brak discs and pads every 15000 miles..

Also you have not recently obtained the car have you???

got rid of mine as i knew things have started to go wrong. Reg R709 vwp
