Altercation with fella on bike
Discussion
Taking the girlfriend to Woking station just now. Conditions drizzly and still fairly dark. Came across a fella on a bike (not a cyclist, there’s a big difference) with no lights.
As is the norm for me, I wound down the window and gave him the usual "might be a good idea to get some lights pal". Now usually, these plebs just ignore me or stick a finger up. Not this one, he skids to a halt and calls me a self righteous git, to which I reply "no, I'm a mountain biker and its people like you who make us all look like t

This seemed to confuse him a bit but he mustered up all of the intelligence he could and blew me a way with the most stunning argument I have ever heard...."er...er...er..well do you ever speed?"
Astounding, absolutely astounding.
Well done for at least attempting to point this out to him. I do exactly the same and get a variety of reactions.
Unfortunately it'll be sod's law that he never gets knocked off in the dark; that misfortune will probably be left to some other poor but law abiding soul.
Last Sunday after a long ride I was returning home through the lanes and came across a bunch off fellas I sort of recognised. As I caught them could see that they were literally gutter to gutter. All 4 of them.
I remarked that, again, they give cyclists a bad name and was told that I was an arrogant bastard.
What do you do eh?

4 pin bowling?
Winds me up something chronic this does... Seems to be worse up in the Midlands than when I was down South too... I'm sure these imbeciles will be the first to complain when they get hit!!
Plus it will then be down to the driver to pay for damage to his car even though it's not his fault due to cyclists not having 3rd party insuarance.

Followed a guy whislt cycling in Leicester the other evening. He was lit up like a f-ing Christmas tree (absolutely covered head to toe with lights, so much so that im sure planes were confusing Glenfield for EMA). As i silently approached (i like overtaking other cyclists, don't know why?) I said 'bloody hell you’re well lit' and he nearly fell off his bike.
It doesn’t annoy me when i see other cyclists without lights, but it does make me worry for their safety.
