Intersting ride out to NY meet yesterday.
One second I'm tootling along @ 40ish the next the analogue speedo starts bouncing around. No probs I'll use the digi display thinks I.
38, 150, 6, 238, 38, etc .
6 to 238mph in a blink of an eye, alright it was a rolling start but I never had any wheelspin

So, can anyone tell me where the speed sensor is located?
Is it an easy job to replace? or am I looking at a dealer/indie visit?

Cheers

I had a similar problem (albeit at a lower speed!) just before my service, apparently, the speed sensor is located somwhere near the flywheel and needs to be adjusted to ensure that the "magnet" is not too close or too far away from the flywheel. I don't know much about the degree of difficulty / cost. Hope this helps.

the speedo sensor is located on the diff/rear axle, cost about £100 bucks and my one was instructed to be set to 24 thou, so you would need one of those micrometer things or whatever they are to set the distance right. i got local garage to do it, cost £20
