Posting this for a non PHer friend of mine (I've told him to join). He has a Westfield & complains that the heat exchanger is behind the passenger footwell, apparently one of those little design faults in a Westie that results in toasted passengers! Is there a solution to this problem - a heat shield or way of diverting the heat away from the passenger?
Thanks!
Alan

Not seen it on the westfield, but I'd immagine a heat shield (with decent reflective material off and exhaust heat shield or something) would help. Any way to get some air flow to that area would help too.

It can be reduced by turning the fan on! As long as the footwell vents have been closed the warm air will then disapate via the screen vents.

I sorted mine out by removing the heater, wipers, screen, side doors etc and fitting an Aeroscreen

I find that going over 30 mph makes no heating in the car anyway!!!
