Afternoon chaps.

Ok im really bored at work cos im posting before 5 (see manifesto point 16).

Le mans is getting a bit, erm chavvy. ANyone got any good alternatives involving great driving roads where we wont get bum raped by the local narcs and some sort of motorsport we can camp near and ignore.

Or is lemans really the unique event in the calendar. Im thinking, F1? Touring cars? other 24 hour events...

They had GT Cup Racing too, but the weekend before which rocked. They let me in the Paddock / pits as I was driving my Porker alas didn't try to follow-on and drive onto the circuit as suspect quite strongly someone wpuld have objected. Public circuit later on was total carnage... Missed the 24hrs but reckon it would be awesome.

apparently the ring 24hour is the week after lemans this year (or the week before cant remember)

would make a good 10 day hoon around europe again doing both!

might be a plan :rubschin:

I've heard that the Ring 24hrs makes the Le Mans antics look like a village fete. For Good or ill.

The Classic Le Mans is a very good weekend, but the next one is 2008.

Great crowd at the 'ring, especially if you stay on the Nurburgring campsite!! We've been to DTM and the Classic, and if they are anything to go by, 24 hrs would be awesome.

Good showers BTW, better than LM....

As usual with the Krauts, everything laid on, easy access to track, water, supply of logs for your fire (honest!!), bars and food everywhere, and a Krautrock band on Saturday night.

Museum if you get bored and some also mighty fine and good value restaurants...

And then there's Spa......

Try the Old Timer GP at the 'ring. Second weekend in Aug, really good weekend with excellent support from Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa. Check out the AvD website, and book the event through PCGB.
Great weekend
