thought i'd post a quick pic of my car on a recent holland trip
i've got a real hankering after a 911 after driving a 996 twin turbo at the weekend.... i've been waiting for the TVR power supercharger conversion, but unfortunately i'm not willing to spend that amount of money on it
so come on Chim fans i need some encouragement to keep it

What a stunning car! You have to keep it! Below is my story. Most people in the TVRCC knows it.
Had my first TVR, an S, in 1990. Then moved onto V8S and Griff 400 before I was relocated to Hong Kong. Still remember those sleepless nights before the pick up of each new TVRs.
Thought I was cured of those sleepless nights in Hong Kong as they did not happen before the pick up of the more than common Skyline GTR, numerous porkers nor the F355.
Then it re-occured a year ago when I located one of 8 Chims in Hong Kong up for grabs. (emission controls stops their import years ago). The bonus is that it is a 500 as well. I did not sleep a wink the night before (X'mas eve). Butterflies in the stomach. Can I still handle a TVR? After spending a complete afternoon (5 hours) of X'mas eve with her. I suddenly realised another forgotton symptom of the TVR discease has re-surfaced. That uncontrolable grin on each TVR owners.
Three months ago, I was offered a stright swap with a 3 year old Ferrari 360 after I burnt him off (out accerated him by a substantial margin). In the UK, I bet most Chim owner will swap for a Ferrari but not me. There are only 8 Chims remaining in HK while there are at least 8000 Ferrari. My wife thought I was mad!!

Speaking as another of Winston's Hong Kong posse, I've often considered selling my Chim (usually when steam, smoke or both are pouring out from under the bonnet!), but as soon as it's up and running again and the smile has returned to my face I realise that there is almost nothing else I'd rather have, particularly here as there are so few of us on the road. Other cars are quicker, others are more reliable, some may look better, etc., but there is that unique quality to a TVR that few thers can get close to. Seeing pedestrians ogle as it rumbles by, watching noses in following cars being pressed against the window to try to get a closer look, seeing boys (and big boys!) mouth 'TVR' as you cruise by, sticking it in a low gear to let it pop and bang going downhill on the over-run . . . all of these things make it unique and so special. As for the superchared option . . . too much money? Bah! For all of the above plus a massive power hike - sounds like a bargain! Keep it, add the supercharger and enjoy!

See how of us love our Chim. We won't even consider swapping it for a Ferrari!!
Indeed.
My old 4.0l was able to hold off a 355 who thought he would take me on the motorway slip road.. Think he was a bit surprised that he wasn't gaining.... Until I lifted off the throttle at 75mph...
