I bought my 350 about 3 months ago. It was a private sale and had no warranty with it.

Now it has been great, the only proplem i have had is to put lots of fuel in it!!

I am going to get a "peice of mind" service early next year although its not due one, at the same time i was going to get a 101 check to get a warranty. This has been my plan when i bought the car.

Is it worth it now (a warranty) with the current situation with the factory! How long is the factory at Blackpool going to remain covering warranty work.

Or, are the factory going to be paying the dealers who are carrying out warranty work even when Blackpool close!

If the factory are going to be covering all warrantys from dealers while they move to Italy (if!!) is there going to be any parts shortages!! Who will do engine rebuilds under warranty!!

Bassically is TVR going to be "Business as normal" during the relocation time period!

What you think!!

I'd say it's worth it personally. Mine has probably covered its cost already and that included the engine going back to the factory only 4 weeks ago. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the warranty is supplied by a separate company rather than TVR itself so it should be safe. When I enquired what would happen to my engine if the factory can't do it because of recent events the dealer told me it would probably go to TVR Power as they can do pretty much all mechanical work. In terms of parts, there may be problems with the supply of bodywork related stuff but the engine building is staying in the UK with Ricardo so that shouldn't be a problem

When buying from a dealer you will get a 12 month warranty with an extra upgrade for wear and tear, which is a must have at extra cost.Your car will I think need to be checked/ serviced by a dealer before you can get your warranty.Any dealer/indy/factory can do your warranty work. It can be an expensive error not to have one.

I have just bought a Tamora and had the check done by TVR Power, just under £200, and £1300 for the warranty. You don't have to have the car serviced there but Dom would prefer you did. Just gives me piece of mind!

I would hold fire for a couple of months to see where the company goes, I am in the same boat wanting to get a warranty, if the warranty is with another company and not TVR directly that still won't help you if TVR go bust and you can't get any parts.....

Having said that I do agree with comments above not having the warranty can be costly learn't to my cost

A warranty and TVR go hand in hand...having worked for TVR in the past I can assure you 75% of our work was warranty.
It used to be warranty holdings an independant company but may have changed...
I highly recommend choosing a quality warranty as most have clever wordings/small print which basically make most parts non claimable.

Thats interesting blackspider!

I know now that TVR's warranty was by a outsourced warranty company. So are there different warrantys avalible from different companys offered by TVR dealers?

My 350 is a 03 but had full engine rebuild by TVR Blackpool in 2005 all to the lastest spec and has only coverd 4.000 miles since this was done.

I do feel the motor is good and reliability in general has been faultless in my short time of ownership.

I am just not sure what to do with a warranty i may hold out to the new year or see what materialise's with the current TVR situation.

Got my Warrantee through a TVR Dealer, they use these guys:

www.autoprotect.net/

BTW you can not go directly through this company, they only deal direct with the TVR Dealer.

The S2000 was a realy nice car, Realy smart interiour, very refined, typical of Honda, put the roof down at ease with a button and you feel as though you are in a bubble with so little wind noise.

The starter button is cool as well, and the motor was great.

My major problem was, it was more suited to my girl friend than me!

I did enjoy it,and in many ways is a fab car, but to be totally honest i felt a girl driving it, in particular with the roof down! Wrong or right this is how i felt and the response of mates also gave me this impression.

On the other hand the 350 makes my mates wet at the mouth. I cannot stop looking at it!

By far (so far!) the 350 has just such strong pressence on the road or parked in my drive, it makes me feel proud and special to own and drive.Love it!

Performance wise the 350 is better and the sound with Racing Green silencers is mad!! The interiour is real nice but has hand finnished issues. Looks the 350 wins hands down. Handling well not sure need to get mine geometry sorted as it's not good at the moment!
