During a recent trip to Ireland in particularly bad weather, both door seals leaked water in at approx 80Kms/hr - faster & the water was blown away, slower & it trickled down the window & away. I mentioned this to my local Vauxhall service centre whilst home in Oct & booked the car in for my next visit home in Jan '07. I've just been contacted & informed that the door seals are not covered by the warranty yet the car is only 2y 6m old with a 3y warranty. I'm in the process of negotiating the problem but the warranty manager - without even seeing the problem (or car for that matter)- has decided that it isn't the door hanging but the seals & they must be paid for by me.

Anyone had this type of problem before with a warranty issue? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well tell them that's CRAP! Picador replaced both those seals last year UNDER WARRANTY.

Ahh - did you ask a question? - reason I ask is I can't access my mail account in work.

Well you could always ask Picadors for their advice. Even worth a trip down to them stopping off at our place

Bit off topic, where were you in Ireland Paul - North or South?

I'm up in the North West in Londondery/Derry and only know of one other 'ro that lives here, but did happen to find a red 2004 model one day in Coleraine...

Hi Baz - I was in the south from 23rd - 27th Oct. Went from Dublin down to Wexford - Waterford - Cork - Killarney & finally Galway where I stayed for a couple days at a mates place then back to England on the Fri...& it was the Wed going from Baltimore (Co.Cork) up through Killarney onto Galway that, as the Irish say '...it didn't stop to rain!!' that the problem occurred...!

Galway I can do in 4-5hrs from this neck of the woods, but I'm sure we can always sort something out, you must have been loving the cheap go-go juice down south - I work right on the border so always take the 5min drive over into the Republic to fill the tank when it starts to run on fumes

Yeah, too right...the most I payed was EUR1.005 & the most I was ripped off for was EUR1.50...but I did fill it up 3 times in the 1000 miles I did that week & LOVED every minute of driving the 'ro that far for so long - ave 250 miles for each of the 5 days & I didn't go anywhere from Wed pm - Fri am!
