Sorry about this but it was such a long reply I had to post it somewhere lol -
This smells of the same rubbish lies that the whole government 'green' agenda is currently being based on. Its nothing to do with proactive carbon emissions reduction. Its all about another stealth tax bandwagon to jump on. They will take any excuse and completely fallible reason to introduce more tax onto us, aren't they taking enough already??
Britian produces 2% of the world's carbon pollution, 2%!!! Why on earth should we even bother going green if other countries like the USA and China keep pumping out so much pollution it pales our amounts into insignificance?
Its laughable that the government can impose these extra taxes in the name of 'becoming green' when other countries aren't doing this. My g/f's parents went to Germany last week, in a supermarket a man came in and fed his recycling into a muncher. A little ticket was printed out and he got 6 euros off his shopping bill!! How can other countries reward recycling when our government turns it into a punishment??
I'll tell you why, because our goverment is only concerned about how much money they can drain from us. Look at all the taxes and national insurance we pay - we are taxed on our wages, taxed on anything we buy, taxed on the speed we drive our vehicles, and even taxed on inheritance (this is a particularly sore subject for me)!!!! They even want to come into our homes and add more tax if we have pride in our 'castles'!
It wouldn't be so bad if the country had beautiful safe roads, and ever present law enforcement that makes you feel secure on a walk into town, a well managed health service which could be proud of itself and provide to the needs of its users, a tax system that was fair and simple to understand, a recycling system that rewarded you instead of trying to punish you into the way you live, a justice system that dealt punishments out relevant to the crime committed, and an army that was used for protecting the country - not just sent over to another country to make sure the reserves of black gold are safe and to keep uncle George happy, just to name a few.
Its a sad state that this country is turning into, and its all the fault of our leaders. Isn't it amazing that now they are potentially going to be investigated for corruption and cash for honours they are not liking this one bit? No no no, there is no need to investigate us, we aren't bad!!!

P.S This is all very relevant to motoring as the average law abiding motorist is the soft target for all of the above! And I was annoyed when I saw the Lincs 'Safety' Camera pratnership van hidden round a bend which made the lorry infront of me lock his brakes up!!!!
