Advice on Porsche purchase!
Discussion
A friend of mine is looking to get back into Porsche ownership – he has owned several Porches in the past, including more recently a rhd 964 rs. Currently he owns a BMW e46 M3 convertible and a BMW e30 M3 cecotto for fun, both of which he is looking to sell.
He has approx mid 30k to spend and wants a car for everyday use and the occasional track day, and is presently leaning towards a rhd 993 c4s. I suggested that he should also consider a lhd 993 tt. He quite likes the idea of the 993tt but is not sure about living with a lhd car for everyday use, and the potential running costs of the tt.
Any other options, or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Aside - This is a genuine UK Guardian newspaper report on the NZ V India WC cricket match - log on before it gets taken off........Makes for a good resignation letter

I'd get your mate to drive two identical cars (within reason) that are LHD and RHD.
I drove 993 C4 in both flavours and personally i much prefer the driving experience proferred by the LHD car which is why i bought the left hook 993 C4S i now have.
Steering and pedals are completely different.
Other than that, choosing between a C4S and a TT is a tough one. Either way he's on to a winner!
Good luck!

CS,
Not sure, but i will know about USA by mid April. New financial year and all that.
If i go to the US then i will sell the C4S in about May i guess, then when i get to the US i will buy a yank tank SUV or pickup (commuting, airport car-parks) and a 993TT (weekends).
If i stay in the UK there may be a Ruf in my future...
