Climate control problem

Woundering if anyone else has experienced this-

Occasionally the heating system goes off all the lights controls everything after starting the car, when the ignition is turned off - on again problem sorted. seems to be a cold weather thing as it happened a couple of times last winter and now its starting again. The warranties ran out so dont want to take to MINI to check unless it gets worse.
