Websites and Stuff I Don't Understand

I'm in need of a website - not terribly complicated but with a few nice clicky bits and also the capabilities to take payments. Kinda an online shop thing. How would I go about making one of these?
Also need to know how to manipulate photos and err...change bits on them. What do I need to do this?

Your entering the shadowy world of hosting providers, shopping cart software and payment gateways.
Or simply put:
Snag a hosting account from Register1, slap on something like OsCommerce and set about configuring it to you needs, use say PayPal as the payment gateway (assuming OsCommerce can just plug itself in to PayPal's application API) and Bobs your maiden aunt.
Photo's, how much editing do you want to do to them? Simple resizing or full blown touch up work?
As it's either InfraView (or similar), GIMP, or for the heavy hitter stuff Photoshop you'll be after.
