From your profile - previously owned TVR 430SE - Lots of fun in this car and a few tears with the clutch , oil pump , heater , electric windows , cooling fans .
Did you have the car from new ? How many of these things caused it to break down ?
I know someone who drives with their foot resting on the clutch pedal all the time - whatever car they have they need a new clutch every year.
Oil pump - relatively inexpensive I assume.
Heater - airlock in the cooling system ?
Electric windows - switches need cleaning regularly - as they do in my BMW.
Cooling fans - fans failed or just didn't cut in - overide switch simple enough - maybe wrong temp rating otter switch installed by the Landrover mechanic who previously serviced the car ?
Lemons exited from new yes - but then that's what warranty is for. Anything else maybe due to other owners. Yes wedges can be expensive to maintain if taking to a main dealer but then expensive compared to what else ?

Clutch failed in Germany 3 weeks after buying it , cooling fans failed in south of france , oil pump yes fairly simple but not inexpensive a pain in the ass , as for the warrentee
