Yoko A032r'S v Toyo R888

I've used both the Yoko's A032's and Avon ACB10's on a Caterham and currently have the Toyo R888's fitted on my GT3RS.
I agree that ACB10's are grippier than the Yoko's in the dry but they can get very lairy in the wet and wear far far quicker.
Since I've fitted the Toyo's I've been really impressed. In many ways they are very similar to the A032's in their feel and wear rate and are great to use in the wet or dry. Given their price,they may well be worth a try.
What car are you thinking of putting them on ?

My only word of caution is that as they only come in one compound and aren't quite as soft as the softest Yoko's. That is fine for a heavy old girl like my 996 but you may struggle to get heat into them on a cold day as I guess your car is relatively light (I'm guessing about 800kg ??).

048s in medium at both ends on the Scimitar have been a little disappointing: soft for the front might have been a better option but I think it'll be slicks for next year.

Do you use that combination for trackdays/circuits or sprint/hillclimb. I'm tempted to move to 048's supersoft all round for sprints/hillclimbs , using R888's in 2005/2006 but they do take somewhere like Goodwood to get up to temp'.
i ran 032Rs on my scimitar SS1 turbo sprint and hillclimber in soft and then super soft. Ive run ACB10s and have mates that use the R888s. I currently use Kumho V70A in soft compound. The car has 250brake (turbocharged) and weighs @ 700kg
My findings are that the 32Rs in super soft were great, not bad in the wet either (its relative ;-)...) and came up to temp quickly. The ACB10s handled well, more progressive in terms of starting to slide, but took longer to get up to temp (pain in sprints/hillclimbs) but are way lighter than any other List 1B ive used, maybe 40-50% compared to Toyos, Yokos and Kumhos. The current Kumhos have lasted 1 season (16events) and the fronts are goosed, but the rears would do another 4-5meetings i reckon. They are sooo soft and are up o temp very quickly, so much so that i reckon the two lap sprint at castle combe is about their limit, 3 laps would see them start to overheat on my car i reckon. They are according to Kumho, a road car List 1B carcass but their F3 wet compound rubber. Best ive used yet in 1Bs and cheaper than yokos and proabably teh ACB10s too.

Pure track day use.Usually one mild out lap and they are up to temp.NEVER get any understeer at all, front end bite is brilliant.I was at Brunters with a mate in his R1 Fury, and even he commented on how planted mine looked.I can take the fast left on the main circuit nearly flat, usually around 120mph.
Wouldnt use anything else.Tried ACB10'S, hated them, truly dreadfull on my car.
